PALM SUNDAY: WHY CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE

Welcome to Purposeful living today.

I hope you and your family are doing great as we all stay at home to stay safe?

The Lord will see us through this Pandemic in Jesus' name. Amen.

He still loves us unconditionally no matter what we are facing right now. I hold firmly to His love for me as I meditate on His word.

Happy Palm Sunday Friends.

Today being Palm Sunday, Christians throughout the world celebrate the day Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem days before his crucifixion.

Crowds left palm fronds and clothing in his path as a sign of praise and respect.
But millions of Christians will observe Palm Sunday at home this year, as the coronavirus pandemic has forced most churches to hold services online because of stay-at-home orders.

About Palm Sunday:

Palm Sunday for Christians commemorates the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem prior to His crucifixion, where palm leaves and clothing were laid in his path (John 12:12-19).

Palm Sunday is often celebrated with a procession and distribution of palm leaves.

In some churches, the palms are saved and burnt into ashes to be used on Ash Wednesday of the next year.

Palm Sunday is also called Passion Sunday.

It is the last Sunday of Lent and the first day of Holy Week.

Do have a Blessed week ahead.
