Welcome to purposeful living today.

Sometimes in life, it seems as if every possible bad thing could happen to you. Maybe you just broke up from the love of your life only to discover that the person they are dating is your best friend.

You started a business that failed because you didn't have the technical know-how about the business, you gave up on that business idea because you don't believe you can succeed in it.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9).

There are certain times in your life when you feel like crawling into your bed, pull the cover over your head and never face anyone ever again.

At that moment when you feel like there is absolutely no chance that things will get better, remember this: "weeping may endure for the night but joy comes with the morning (Psalm 30:5) – It's always darkest before dawn.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I decree over anyone reading this post who is on the verge of giving up on their dreams that your morning has come.

I pray that every closed door before you be opened; every marital, academic, financial and destiny closed door to be opened in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Don't give up means to cease doing or attempting something especially admitting defeat. It also means to surrender or quit.

You never fall until you stop trying. - Albert Einstein.

5 Important Things You Shouldn't Give Up On:

Dear, when you are pursuing a worthwhile goal, it's almost inevitable that at some point you will think any of the following thoughts:
  •         This dream is harder than I thought it would be.
  •          I am getting nowhere with this.
  •          Why is this dream taking so long to be a reality?
  •          I can't do this, what was I thinking?
When you have one or more of these thoughts, it's very likely that you will want to give up.
Below are 5  strategies for not giving up:

1. Have the "I can do mindset" (Philippians 4:13):

Not giving up is a mindset of winners.    Caleb and Joshua had this mindset (Numbers 13:30). Jesus had this mindset while He was on earth, He was in charge and could not be defeated. He didn't give up on redeeming man and restoring him back to God. You have the mind of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 2:16) — A victorious mind.

Constantly affirm the following to yourself:

  •  I will persist when things get tough.
  •  I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
  • Every problem has a solution, and I have the ability of God in me to find it.
  •  Setbacks are temporary — every setback is a setup for a comeback.
  • Every day I gain more knowledge and insight about what works and what doesn't, which means I am getting stronger and wiser.
  • I will think and find a way through this.
Having "I can do mindset" will make it much easier for you to persist and refuse to give up until you achieve your goal.
2. Be strong and very courageous (Joshua 1:6):

To be strong means to be able to withstand force (challenges), while courageous means not to be deterred by danger or pain — to be brave.

Courage is not the absence of fear, it's taking bold steps in the face of fear. You are strong not in your strength which can fail and limit you but in Christ who strengthens you. ( Ephesians 6:10 and 1 Samuel 30:6).

You are to be strong and courageous for the following reason:

  • To take possession of what God has promised you.
  • To be successful in what you do and everywhere you go.
  • The lord is with you wherever you go— you are not alone.
There is a saying that success is failure turned inside out. If you fail as you try to achieve your goals, instead of using that failure as an excuse to quit, use it as a stepping stone to achieving greater heights. Check out lessons from Derek Redmond Olympic race, how he didn't give up his race despite he had a torn hamstring 150 meters into the race.

Keep trying you will get there.

3. Go back to your 'why" (Jeremiah 29:11):

One of the most important steps in setting a goal is to create a list of all the reasons why you want to achieve that goal. Take a look at your list that contains the reason why your goal is so important whenever you feel like quitting. Always focus on the finishing line — the reward.

4. Seek a different approach (Philippians 1:6):

Refusing to give up doesn't mean that you should simply keep doing the same thing over and over again. If the approach you are using isn't working try a different approach. When you are persistent you will find a technique or a strategy that works for you. Here are simple ways to change the way you think.

Declare the following:

In the name of Jesus, I refuse to give up because I haven't tried all the possible ways that it will work.

In the name of Jesus, I refuse to give up because wanting to give up is just a sign that I need a different approach.

When you want to give up, take out a pen and begin to brainstorm different alternatives. Roy T. Bennett said: "If you don't give up on something you truly believe in, you will find a way."

5. Meditate and pray with God's word  (Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1-2:3):

To meditate is to ponder or think. You are to meditate on God's word over any issue of concern to you — God honors his word above His name. Don't worry over them, worry doesn't stop today of its challenges, it stops tomorrow of its joy. It's only meditating on God's word that will give you good success.

God's big dreams for you will not be a reality if you don't pray. Pope Francis says "Prayer is an expression of our need to respond to God's love which always precedes and sustains us."

If you feel like giving up, spend time praying to the God who loves you recklessly and wants the best for you.

Dear, sometimes when you think God has written the end, what He really means is the beginning. You will not give up when you are living for something greater than you — live for the glory of God and be connected to him in constant fellowship.

God loves you and is with you in the boat of your life and will cause you to launch into the deep for more catch.

You can begin a relationship now with the Lord Jesus Christ and experience His love for you by saying this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I believe in your death and resurrection. I ask you to forgive me my sins, I reject the devil and all his works and l welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I declare today I am born again and I am a child of God in Jesus name. Amen.

If you just said that prayer I welcome you to God's family. Look for a Bible-believing church where God's word is taught and fellowship there.
