For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. (Proverbs 23:7).

This article is a continuation of our previous article on How to overcome low self-esteem, see here for part one.

There will always be someone willing to hurt you, put you down, gossip about you, belittle your accomplishments and judge your soul. It is a fact that we all must face. However, if you realize that God is a best friend that stands beside you when others cast stones you will never be afraid, never feel worthless and never feel alone.

Having struggled with low self-esteem for years as a teenager I discovered that to overcome it was to know "who I am".

You can't overcome low self-esteem when you aren't conscious of your identity and personality in Christ.

Who I am is the content that I am made up. We choose to make our life a content or  a container by the way we live. It is funny how we most times invest in our body (physical appearance) without investing in who we are (our mental and spiritual capacity) - in the talent, skill, and potentials God has endowed us with. You are beautiful when you know your  worth. An impactful person is a person with a beautiful mind -  a person that has worked on his mindset. The ugliest person in the world is not the person that does not have an admirable look, but is the person without a sense of purpose.

Invest in your content and then you can package yourself to be attractive, so that people can be drawn to buy.

I was delivered from living a life of low self-esteem when I knew Christ  and what God has said in his word about me. The Holy Spirit through meditating on the word of  God and prayers delivered me from a life of low self-esteem. I saw that I was made in the image and likeness of God - which means I was created to reflect and function like God. I don't need any man to give me any definition of who I am because God already did. Let me share some  scriptures that reveal what God has said about you and how special you are to God:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them" (Genesis 1:27).
This verse reveals that you are created in the image and likeness of God, not that of your parents or your present unpleasant environment. This means your attitude and lifestyle should be like that of God your Father.

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well" (Psalms 139:14).

I like this verse because it tells me that God made me specially. There was a time I wished I could change some things about my looks. This verse made me know that God did not make a mistake when He created me. God did not make a mistake when He created you. You are His master piece. Love the way you look, admire yourself because you are wonderfully made by the only Perfect Manufacturer.

You need to know who you are, so you can overcome who you are not that tends to limit the greatness in you.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (Jeremiah 29:11).
This verse is one of my favorite verses in scripture. It assures me that God is a good God, that has good thoughts towards me. This is same for you if only you believe.

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee" (Jeremiah 31:3).

Wow! I really know I am special when I read this scripture. By the way, the first time the words "I love you" were directed to me, it was from God during my last attempt at suicide. This understanding of God's love has transformed my life. I see God as a Father who loves me recklessly. I call Him my prodigal Father.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

This is proof of God's love for me, that He gave His only son for me. This makes me know how very special I am to God. This means  I don't have to do anything to be accepted, because if I believe in Christ I am accepted by God. I don't need the acceptance of men to make me feel loved, I am the beloved of God. So are you. I want to love not because I need love, but because I have love already in me and I want to share the love.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

This verse reveals to me that I am a new creation in Christ. I am not my past mistakes and I don't have to allow my past have a hold on me. I have a new identity - which is Christ. Christ is your identity. Forget about your past because God does not remember your past.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

This verse reveals to me that I am chosen, royalty, special, and holy unto God. I began to see myself as a king and not as a slave. This renewed my mindset to think, live and act as a King because I am royalty. The first way to overcome low self-esteem is by meditating on the word of God.

The word of God reveals your true identity.

The above verses are some of the verses that I mediated upon, which God used to deliver me from low self-esteem. Please if you have dealt with low self-esteem let us know on the comment section how you overcame it. There are millions of people today living in low self-esteem.

Dear reader, you are useful to humanity. What value are you adding to humanity? Are you a content or a container that is without value and is thrown away after  use? Your worth is revealed when you are living to fulfil purpose. A life without purpose is abused.

Think about your future and your destiny. Become the picture of the future you desire.
Our God is Love. He is a loving Father who is always willing and ready to Love us if only we allow Him by receiving his love and not live in worry.God my Father is loving. He is so in love with you dear. Stay in His love.

You can begin a relationship now with the lord Jesus Christ and experience His love for you by saying this prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe in your death and resurrection. I ask you to forgive me my sins. I reject the devil and all his works and l welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I declare today I am born again and I am a child of God in Jesus name .Amen .

If you just said that prayer I welcome you to God's family. Look for a Bible believing church where God's word is taught and fellowship there.
