Welcome to purposeful living today. Thanks for always visiting and sharing these life transforming articles on fulfill purpose blog. When a person is going through a hard time, his mind wants to give up. Satan knows that if he can defeat us in our mind, he can defeat us in our experience. That’s why it is so important that we not lose heart, grow weary and faint.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ" (2 Corinthians 10: 3-5).

A battlefield is a place or situation of conflict. The battlefield of the mind is a conflict raging within the mind between different choices. These choices will determine what will gain ground and hold a person strong. Thoughts are formed and shaped in the mind. Many are however quick to blame the devil for the negative thoughts acted upon; hence want to extricate themselves from responsibilities. The Bible however declares that it is what comes out of a man that defiles him. This clearly shows we have a part to play in the processing of the thoughts that filter into our minds. Thoughts are things; but what you do with these thoughts is crucial in ensuring victory in the battle. One thing is certain; you are supposed to win in the battle of life because God had made divine provision before the foundation of the world for your deliverance.

Whatsoever captures your mind engages it. The Word of God is explicit that our life goes in the direction of our thoughts ‘As a man thinks, so he is’. You are what you think. You can therefore only reap what you sow and can only birth forth and replicate what is within you.

The bible declares in Proverbs 4 :23 that we need to guard our heart with all diligence . The responsibility to keep, nurture, protect and guard our minds is on us. Take charge and control what you allow grow and mature in your mind because it is a war zone. A lot of things want to gain our attention but we need to maintain our focus on the victory that is laid before us. Friend, there is curiosity in a place tagged as restricted. Men want to peep at what is confidential, eavesdrop at a private conversation and generally desire what is restricted. The human mind is in a state of conflict between the existing ideologies and a change which is in accordance with the Word of God. This battle keeps evolving as a revelation is needed for the next phase. You will always need to deal with the conflict of your mind through the sceptre of God’s word.

Romans 12 : 2 says , “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God .”

Every attack of the enemy starts with a thought . Your mind is the battlefield where life’s most precious victories are won or lost! You have to take thoughts captive or they will take you captive.
Whether or not you realize it, there’s a war going on every day. Your weapon is the Word of God , and you must learn to think God’s thoughts.

The law of thought is as follows: what you think on will manifest in your life.

Your mind will never be blank —you must choose your thoughts!

The creative process is what you conceive, believe, and speak. Obstacles, the mountains in your life, will not move until they are defeated in your mind.

In order to change what you do, it’s important to change what you think. If it’s on your mind, it’s in your future. The good news is that Christians have the mind of Christ. Righteousness is God’s way of thinking .

There’s no reason to stay stuck with negative thoughts! Focus your attention on the Word of God and your thought life will begin to change. The devil is a liar. Jesus called him ... the father of lies and of all that is false (John 8 :44. ) He lies to you and me. He tells us things about ourselves, about other people and about circumstances that are just not true. He does not, however, tell us the entire lie all at one time.
He begins by bombarding our mind with a cleverly devised pattern of little nagging thoughts, suspicions, doubts, fears , wonderings, reasonings and theories . He moves slowly and cautiously (after all, well- laid plans take time). Remember, he has a strategy for his warfare . He has studied us for a long time. He knows what we like and what we don't like. He knows our insecurities, our weaknesses and our fears. He knows what bothers us most. He is willing to invest any amount of time it takes to defeat us. One of the devil' s strong points is patience.

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood] , but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. Through careful strategy and cunning deceit , Satan attempts to set up "strongholds" in our mind. A stronghold is an area in which we are held in bondage (in prison ) due to a certain way of thinking . In this passage, the Apostle Paul tells us that we have the weapons we need to overcome Satan's strongholds. The devil argues with us; he offers us theories and reasonings. All of this activity goes on in the mind. Many, both Christians and non- Christians alike live in ignorance of the war the devil wages in their mind and due to this ignorance, they are defeated in their mind which however reflects on the outside. The good news is that you can win the battle in your mind. We shall be looking at the principles of winning the battle in our mind in our part 2 of this topic. When we win the battle in our mind, we lead a life worthy of Christ; fully pleasing to Him; a happy and victorious life.

In General, our life's battle is first won or lost in our mind, that is, our thought pattern and this is the area the devil wants to capture. We must however always resist the devil and his negative suggestions to us in our minds; renewing our minds with the Word of God and through fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The unspiritual man cannot understand the things of the Spirit because they are folly to him. It is impossible to allow the Word of God renew your mind when you haven't made Jesus the Saviour and Lord of your life

You can begin a relationship now with the Lord Jesus Christ by saying this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I believe in your death and resurrection. I ask you to forgive me my sins, I reject the devil and all his works and l welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I declare today I am born again and I am a child of God in Jesus name .Amen .
If you just said that prayer I welcome you to God's family. Look for a Bible believing church where God's word is taught and fellowship there.
