Welcome to Purposeful Living today. Hope you are doing amazingly great today? We are happy to have you here today. Do have a blessed day

Investment, as the dictionary defines it, is something that is purchased with money that is expected to produce income or profit .

You’ll hear it said that the best investment you can make isn’t in stocks or bonds . Instead, it’s in yourself. But have you thought about what it really means to invest in yourself? I’ll give you a hint: It’s not about the money .
Most people think that “investing on yourself” is really just another way of saying “go back to school and get a degree” or “spend money on a conference”. And while you could do those things, investing in yourself is not about spending money.

Instead, it’s about taking a look at your life to see what areas you could be doing better in and/ or at areas you’d just really like to explore , and then taking the time to do so. And that’s not limited to formal education by any means .

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11"

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7.

1. Self development:
The number one investment you can make in your life is on your self- development and soul. He who has God has everything for Scripture makes us understand that if we seek first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness, all these things( physical needs and wants) will be ours as well. Matthew 6:33. Just as you learnt in yesterday's post that success has to do with who you are (personality) and impacting your world with the investment of your personality, that is, making use of what God has invested in you. That it is all about being a problem solver to the problems in your world. The measure of success is not in what you have; rather, it is in how God sees you; how you have used what He has given you for His Glory and for the blessing of humanity. If you remain shallow in knowledge and refuse to explore, your operation in life can never go outside of what you know. If you invest in good knowledge, you will grow and expand and explore and deal as you know. If you invest in the Word of God which is "Life", you will not only be spiritually fit, you will also command, and enter into the inheritance that God has destined for you. He will begin to make things work out for your good; since the earth is the Lord's and its fullness thereof, you will also receive the good things of the Father because He never allows His children to be in lack.

If you live without the Word of God and think it to be ancient or obsolete or "makes people run mad", then you will see yourself living in mediocrity and not according to the plan of your Creator for you. But if you invest in the Word of God by knowing and abiding in what it says, you will not only be transformed by the Word to the image of God the Father, but you will also reign in life. The Word of God is power, it is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword. If you have not started investing in the Word of God by constant study, begin to do so now; know all that Your Father has in store for you, know His plans for your life. God did not create you to live life outside of Him but that He should be the Director of your life. Begin to sow in the Word of God today and any other knowledge that is profitable for you. Reject mediocrity because it is not God's will for you. You operate in life according to the knowledge you carry. In as much as God is ever ready to bless you, you too have a part to play in receiving God's manifold blessings.

2. Daydream a little:
We also invest in ourselves by dreaming big. Start by daydreaming a little. What have you always wanted to try? Now’s the time to act upon that vision and idea that you carry — whatever it is. Get up a half hour early every day to write that Great article or book, visit a local attraction that you’ve always been curious about but never stopped in at — whatever.

Taking the time to do something that you’ve always wanted to do is a way of showing yourself that YOU are important . You’ll feel more energetic and just better in general. You’re worth it.

3. Learn a new skill:
Yes, this could involve taking a class. (Why did I wait decades to finally start learning baking?) But it could also mean reading up on a subject using books from the library, or downloading and practicing every day. Or it could mean joining a knitting club for beginners, and learning together in a group. It could even mean actively trying to improve your score in the latest smart phone game craze or learning programming on your laptop.
The point is to do something new that takes practice and effort. Exercising your brain helps keep it sharp , and makes life a whole lot more interesting.

4. Get over an old stumbling block:
Life as we know, is in stages, from a greater level and unto a greater level and so on. You don't have to be the same or do the same things to experience greater level of glory. There has to be a change and a territory to conquer. We all have things that are holding us back, keeping us from being the people we really could be if we worked through an issue. Maybe you worry all the time, or are incredibly shy but long to have friends . Or maybe your checking account is constantly overdrawn and you and your spouse are always fighting about money .
It’s time for a change. Get counseling, get therapy , get whatever it takes to get over that old stumbling block and move past it. It’s one investment that will be WELL worth it.

5. Make healthy habits and give yourself a break:
Eat well, get enough sleep (no burning the candle at both ends !), and exercise daily (for example , by taking a daily walk .) Healthy habits give you the energy to DO the things you want to do, rather than being run down and sick. There ’s nothing like literally taking care of yourself to improve the quality of your life.
Finally, one of the most overlooked ways to invest in yourself is to just really give yourself a break. If you’re so over- scheduled that you’re constantly stressed out from rushing here and there, cancel something . You do NOT need to do everything. No one will be scarred for life if they aren’t busy every single moment. We all need breaks, and you are no exception . Massages and stuff are great , but simply doing nothing is an awesome break too. When was the last time you scheduled a do -nothing day?
So go ahead, pick at least one way to invest in yourself, and get started today. What will you do?

There is a void in every man that not wealth, fame, social status, sex, drink, fun and the likes can fill. It is only God that can fill that void, what is that void that is missing? It is the absence of JESUS IN YOUR LIFE AND ALL HE OFFERS such as peace, love, righteousness and joy in the Holy Ghost. You have taken the wheel of your life all by yourself and like Peter you have caught nothing with your life, this is the time to allow Jesus Christ into your boat (life) so he can help you to catch the fullness of life in him that gives you a meaningful life on earth and defines your eternal destination.

If you want to surrender to Jesus Christ why not say this prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I believe in your death and resurrection. I ask you forgive me of my sins, I reject the devil and all his works and l welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I declare today I am born again and I am a child of God in Jesus name .Amen .
If you just said that prayer I welcome you to God's family. Look for a Bible believing church where God's word is taught to fellowship there.
