"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).

So let's look at some of the reason why It is a bad idea for you as a Christian to be unequally yoke.

1. Your relationship with God suffers:
When you are in a relationship with a person that is not a Christian you will not be able to build a very solid intimate relationship with God. You cannot be sharpened by him or her. You will not be able to enjoy the fellowship with God as a couple. When you are cold he will not be there to put the fire of the spirit through the agency of the word of God and prayers to set your heart on fire for God.

Apostle Paul urges women to choose someone “in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 7:39) for a good reason. He wants to protect them. This isn’t to say that Christians never gossip or hurt, or betray. But I didn’t say “mere” Christians, did I? I said, if you’re going to make yourself vulnerable, choose someone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit. That’s a particular kind of Christian who takes their relationship with God very seriously.

2. There is no "Unity in Fellowship ":

When married couples are faced with challenges in their home and marriage they come together before God and talk to Him about the issue. I remember listening to an audio message by Andrew Wommack on how when they heard that their son was dead, he and his wife held hands together where they where and pray for their son and God raised their son back to life. This will not be possible if they were unequally yoked, they will not be able to come together in the name of Jesus to talk to their Heavenly Father.

You can't expect your husband to love you as Christ loves the church when he is not in Christ.

You want her to submit to you when she has not Submitted her life to Christ making Him her personal Lord and Saviour.

If you marry an unequally yoked, the Character of the Spirit cannot find full expression in your home and your husband has not Jesus as his model in loving you so he can treat you the way he likes, even kill you because of a little misunderstanding because he does not have the fear of God in Him.
Since she has no relationship with God then don't expect her to be the virtuous woman you see in God's word because she does not even know anything about the word. So she can't live and be guided by the word.

Do you want to get passionate or worse, naked with someone who the Bible says is ruled primarily by their lusts? Do you want to share secrets with someone who doesn’t have the power to forgive, so if the two of you break up and they get angry, they’ll spill all, using gossip as a weapon to get back at you? Do you want to spend your days with someone who doesn’t take any time to bask in God’s presence, who never lifts you up in prayer, never seeks God’s guidance when they are thinking about your relationship?

3. It is not God's design:
You cannot change God's design no matter how much you love your design, God is the only Master Designer.
I know you love him or her very much, but think of it; have you seen where in the bible God said the Israelite should marry unbelievers, a thousand times no where! God told them not to, so why the debate on marrying an unbeliever if you are a child of God and you love God.

Not every marriage even Christian marriages that are operating under God’s marital design. The result could be couples who irritate each other rather than compliment each other. Couples who tug and pull at the harness, trying to change the team’s direction. Couples who won’t submit to each other.

To understand God's design we must be in the unity of faith where we operate based on the word.

4. It hinders you from fulfilling God's Purpose in Marriage:
Every marriage is prophetic. God brings two people together for a set agenda to fulfill. If God has called you to be a Pastor and you marry someone from another religion, how will you fulfill your ministry?

You cannot partner with God with a person that is not apart of Him and sees no need for Him.

Training of children is the number one responsibility of parents, in whose ways will you teach these children to grow, follow and obey - in the way of God or ....?

You have signed up for an unfulfilling marriage that does not enjoy the fullness of your inheritance in Christ if you choose to be unequally yoked.
God ordained that a man and his wife be joined together. The ancient text is a picture of two oxen literally yoked together. Being together in Christ will empower us to fulfill his purpose in our lives.

Marry a person you are equally yoked with in God. God has prefect, beautiful and lovely plan for your Marriage.

You can begin a relationship now with the lord Jesus Christ and experience His love for you by saying this prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I believe in your death and resurrection. I ask you to forgive me my sins, I reject the devil and all his works and l welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I declare today I am born again and I am a child of God in Jesus name .
Amen .

If you just said that prayer I welcome you to God's family. Look for a Bible believing church where God's word is taught and fellowship there.
