WHAT A GUY SHOULD KNOW BEFORE FINDING A WIFE (PART 1)

God wants to lead us in our relationships and this only happens when we are led by the Spirit, not by our feelings or emotions.
Why should you allow God to lead you in other areas of your life but not allow Him to lead you in your relationship?

We are always glad that you are here. May this week be a week of FAVOUR for you.

The Grass is green by virtue of its relationship with fertile soil. What are you doing to make your life and relationship green? How fertile is your soil( mind)?

This week we will be unveiling some of the things a guy should know before finding a wife. God's design from the beginning is that your premarital relationship should lead to marriage not from one breakup to another before you finally have your rest in marriage. God is a healer of the heartbroken but he is not a heart breaker oh!

God wants to lead us in our relationships and this only happens when we are led by the Spirit, not by our feelings or emotions.

Why should you allow God to lead you in other areas of your life but not allow Him to lead you in your relationship?

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" (Romans 8:14).

Let's look at some of the things a guy should know before finding a wife.

1. A Guy should know God:

Knowing and living for God is the ultimate purpose for man on earth (Isaiah 43:7). Relationship and Marriage was instituted by God not man.

Man needs to know God and live by His design in relationship and marriage. A guy by God's design is to be a Priest, King, Prophet, and Leader in his relationship, marriage, and family. He can't do this when he has no relationship with his Creator.

Most guys want what they see in God's word to reflect in their marriage and relationship without them living by the principles of God's word. God commands us to be his disciples, and a disciple is a follower of his master. He does not do his own thing but what the master commands.

As a guy do you follow Jesus? Until you follow Him don't expect a woman to follow you, where and to whom are you taking her to?

Friends, until we revive, restore, and build a  healthy relationship with God we can't build a God-designed relationship and marriage.

In the beginning, this is what God did to the first guy: "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it" (Genesis 2:15).

God took the first guy and put him in the garden of Eden. God put the man in His Presence, to delight in Him. The word Eden in Hebrew means "delight" or "enjoyment". It was a garden of delight or enjoyment.

In this case, God had in mind not merely an environment for vegetation, but for a relationship through fellowship between God and Adam and Eve, who represented all of mankind. Spiritually, Eden symbolizes a rich and fertile place of unbroken fellowship. God wants man to delight in Him and He will grant him the desires of his heart (example a wife) - Psalms 37:4.

So, you see a guy needs to have an unbroken fellowship with God.  God is not talking about a guy who goes to church but he is talking about a guy who has fellowship with Him.  A guy who is a God-lover, not just a churchgoer.

What do we mean by fellowship?

We mean an intimate relationship and friendship with God. God wants to friends with you like He was with Abraham. The place of fellowship is where you seek his direction and perfect will for your life with the willingness to obey his leadings in your life.  A fellowship with God comprise of the study and meditating of the word, prayers, fasting, fellowship with other believers, listening to God...  It is in the place of fellowship you receive instructions like Adam received these instructions:

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:16-17).

Adam received these instructions from God. Dear friend, as a man who is finding a wife or has found one what instructions have you received from God on how he wants your relationship and marriage to be like?

It is His instructions when received and obeyed that gives you a distinguished relationship and marriage. His instructions can be seen when we study and meditate on  God's word (the bible). For example one of the instructions He gave to men about marriage is this:

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it ( Ephesians 5:25).

You can only know His instructions as you stay in His presence. You can't love your wife as Christ loved the Church, without Him who is the greatest and best lover helping you to do so daily, for without Him you can do nothing, click here to receive Christ... To be continued on Wednesday.
